botanic gardens.

There's this new place i'd recommend every one to. It's the Jacob Ballas Children's Garden, located just beside the NUS Bukit Timah Campus. I think it's a great place for the kids--to explore and learn new things at the same time. For me, i like it for its serenity on weekdays.

Went there with someone on children's day.
Boy, was there a whole bunch of kids running around.

This boy is super cute. He has this cow backpack with a long rope attached to it which his dad uses like a leash on him. So he's getting pulled around, and i think he enjoys it. Haha.

And before i knew it, i got a leash too. =/

Poo-ing position. =X

Oh, this pair of lovey-dovey birds.

Kissing and playing with each other so happily until....

...the third party came along. o.0

Emo tortise. Haha!

Kids' maze.

The next place i wanna explore is the Southern Ridges. Woot.
Okay, hurry up with your essay already... =(
rach's housewarming. :)

As for me and my House, We will serve the LORD.

It's very encouraging to witness how different a family can be when God is at the center. I'm still believing God for a change in my family.

rach's mum Rita and dad Ricky. The three Rs.

Rach made these! Blueberry cheesecake.
And they taste great. I love cheese!

Random. Left to right (clockwise): Corinna, Flor, Weiling, Rach's mum, Sherwyn, Serene.

See what they do to me... *Sobs*

Sisters!

Brothers!

Pray that the Lord will continue the great work He's started in Rach's family. Bless them greatly, that they may be a blessing to others. :)

Haven't been posting many photos recently.
Miss them? Haha.

Here. All the unpublished photos, all in one post.

My neighbourhood's filled with stray cats, if you haven't noticed.

My hand looks gigantic. You know why?

It's a kitten! It's only the size of my foot!

Sodagreen concert @ max pavilion.

It was very good.
Qingfeng (lead singer) was in a good mood and crapped a lot.

青峰:每次我來新加坡我都很受不了新加坡人到處都講英語。雖然我的英語不是很好,但是點菜時我偏偏要用英語點,就不信他們聽不懂我講的英語。

青峰:(to waiter, with accent) I want one Yang Chou Fried Rice.
Waiter: (imitates accent) Oh, Yang Chou Fried Rice.
青峰:(with accent again) Yes.
Waiter: (turns and shouts) 來一盤揚洲炒飯!
青峰:... ...

Volunteered at ISEA 2008. International Symposium of Electronic Art.

This particular art piece is a water touchpad. There are words projected from underneath a tank of water. Dip your finger in and hover over a word and the projector will display quotes or images related to that word. So cool!

Ellson's bday last thursday 21/8.

Went chomp chomp @ serangoon gardens.
Drank the usual sugar cane + lemon. uber big mug.

It's my second unofficial day in school and boy am I feeling the heat!

Attended one of my favoritest lesson today early in the morning, at NINE a.m.! Online Journalism is the class. And behold, there are only seven people in the class, including me.

The class plunged right into business and by the end of the class, I've already submitted my first assignment: my resume and application letter. That's how fast things went!

And due next week is the first article. I've done planning what I intend to write, and have started sending out emails and messages requesting for interviews. (Things are getting exciting around here!)

And due some weeks later is another assignment I'm pretty geared up for. We're to follow a manual laborer for several hours and observe how he/she works. Better too if we get our hands dirty! It's something I'd never do if given a choice. But I think it'll be valuable experience and possibly a life-changing one too.

Only the second day of school and i'm feeling the heat already. Looking forward to what God can do in this sem!

Oh yea! I tried frying beehoon for the first time!

And this is how is looks like. lol!

Greater incentives to learn frying beehoon because i really LOVE eating it! I ate it for ONE WHOLE YEAR back in secondary school. *gasps!* Yupps. But seriously, this tastes good for a first-timer. =DD I still remember craving for fried beehoon and being disappointed because the hawker near my place only sells them in the morning. I can foresee many beehoon days to come. Whee!

(Quite a nothing-much-to-read post. But still. =))

woohoo.

Really sorry for not updating. Many things has been happening, but really didn't have the time and mood to blog.

I had been really busy over the past three weeks plus, helping out with the uni ESS, which just ended yesterday 16/08.

Really thank God that ESS went smoothly. It was such a mega production. The publicity team had to come up with EIGHT videos!! And the programming had to come up with a 40mins long script!! We really relied on God's strength, wisdom and grace.

God's grace IS enough.

Another crazy thing that happened was meeting manmi up EVERYDAY. Up till today, we have been meeting up consecutively for 22 days!

It IS madness!

Manmi was from the programming team (mm side). But the mm people were under publicity. So we worked together to do both publicity and programming (mm). Because of the crazily tight schedule, we had to meet up EVERY DAY! From planning to script writing to filming to editing to rehearsing.

Working together closely for over the past three weeks, it really felt like we've been working together for forever. There were some striking similarities between us. From the brand of pen we use (lol!), to our personality (phleg-mel), to our crankiness (need i explain?).

*notice the difference in eye sizes. LOL.*

Maybe because of her crankiness my drama-ism was magnified. lol. (Trying to find excuse.) Anyways, it was really really fun working together with her. Even though the schedule was uber tight, it was made much more enjoyable because of her.

Really thank God that we had this opportunity to serve God together. Pray that even after ess we'll still continue to share lives together.

AHHHH. I'll really miss seeing you every day. *shy* Remember our movie date ya? And you may please start tagging on my tagboard. Lol!

Went down to Huili and Joanne's convo on thursday night.

the typical throw-hat stun. ORD loh!
can feel their happiness in graduating. anticipation for the future.

i can't wait to graduate too! XD
Am cooking as i type.
Hungry cuz i din have dinner before going to gary's concert.

This post is not about how well gary sang at the concert.
Nor is it about how fair gary was when he took off his shirt onstage.

Nonetheless, this post may sound quite bias. Even offensive.
But this is truly my self-reflection on my way home from the concert.

My ticket was a complimentary one. Meaning it's free.

I didn't buy a ticket simply because i had no money. And i'm not really that crazy over gary. Not like what some of you may have perceived me to be. But well, since it's free, might as well go. (kiasu singaporean)

During the concert, some parts were visually stimulating. At certain points, i still got blown away by gary's voice. But mostly, i sat there and thought, "What's next?"

As novelty wears off, i was left yearning for something more. Don't get me wrong, gary's concert was good. Great, in fact. But somehow, it's not good enough.

I was on the bus with zann when i asked her if she felt empty after the concert. And she said yes. It's like there's something missing, she said. And i agreed totally.

I've just experienced what it meant to fill your heart up with something that just can't satisfy. Impressive but lacking in depth. Stimulating but ain't lasting. Good but ain't good enough.

I can't help but to compare this with the late nights i've had with church friends. We weren't at some mega concert. Nor did we attend the most spectacular event of the year. We were just hanging out and doing the usual things. But every time i went home, there's a smile that lingers on. A joy that can't be described.

I can't help but also compare the friendships i've built. I had steamboat buffet with the gfc people on thursday. The food was great, but we were almost silent while eating. Someone commented that we're too focussed on our food. But in my heart i knew why no one was talking. There was nothing to talk about save gary-related topics. And food was just an excuse.

I didn't go KL for gary's concert. Instead i went KL for adults camp. On hindsight, there's just so much more meaning in the camp. It's not just about having fun. It's about sharing lives. It's about something eternal.

When my father passed away, it was my church friends whom i first cried in front of. Who stuck with me throughout. Who kept me company through the three days' wake. Who ate up most of the peanuts too. Who knew that even though i say i'm okay, i wasn't. And they were bold enough to tell me so.

I really couldn't help but compare. Gary ain't bad. And gfc ain't bad either. But there's just so much meaning and depth in loving God and his people that they pale in comparison.
